A Yummy Date Made in Mexico, Newmarket Ontario

When in the trenches of online dating, it is always a good idea to have some winner date spots in mind. For those of you who are Newmarket online dating I have found a fun and yummy date spot to take your internet love interest!

Made in Mexico Restaurant and Cantina is a Newmarket Main St. gem. The staff are friendly, the food is amazing, and the drink selection is plentiful...especially with a former resort bartender behind the bar!

The authentic Mexican fare will blow you away, I know the Queso Fundido is fun to share and a must-try. The fish tacos were amazing - the Mexican coleslaw is especially of note.

Fish Tacos with Salad and Refried beans...that I couldn't wait to eat (whoops)

The menus is reasonably priced, so this is a great spot to show your date some authentic Mexican food without breaking the bank.
It was quite busy when I paid it a visit, so if you are planning on taking a date, especially during the weekend, I would recommend reservations.

Made in Mexico =LOVE!!

Happy online dating ;-)

5 Things Guys Lie About on Their Online Dating Profiles

Going on a date with someone in person after meeting them through online dating is a nerve-wracking experience. When men get the green light to meet in person after passing the online chatting stage, it can be disappointing if you meet a completely different guy than what you were expecting!

Prepare yourself, ladies, these are the top things guys lie about on their online dating profiles!

1. Height: Being a relatively tall woman, I can tell straight away when a man misrepresented his height on his profile once we meet in person. I am 5'8" and if a guy claims to be 6'0" and is around my height or shorter...busted! I wonder if they actually think us ladies won't notice?!

2. Salary: If a man even mentioned his salary unprovoked (or makes reference to how loaded he is) most likely he is lying. Normally it will take longer than just the first date to call them out because the first couple dates they can put up a front with fancy dinners, etc. Men who actually make decent money normally don't feel the need to brag about it, so beware of the showoffs!

3. Marital/Family Status: Is he driving over an hour to meet you? Is there a tan line where a wedding band would sit on his finger? Those are the most obvious signs the position of 'his woman' is already taken. Did he neglect to mention children but there are signs of little ones in his vehicle? Beware of the dudes that aren't telling the whole truth about their home life. There is nothing wrong with having children, but at least be honest about it! As for those who lie about being tied down already....run, run away! They will do the same to you if you go down this path.

4. Age: For some reason men feel the need to cover their older age. Me, personally, I like the older dudes, so if someone lies to be younger they are shooting themselves in the foot twice over; a) because they are dishonest and b) because I like older men anyway! I know not all women share this fetish, but guys, seriously, we're going to find out sooner or later...that is, unless you are just planning on a fling. Take note, girls!

5. Their "Healthy" Lifestyle: Which boxes they tick indicating how much they smoke, drink, do drugs and exercise are all questionable. Often a "social drinker" will get completely shitfaced on the first date, or as the dating progresses how much they actually exercise and do drugs will become more apparent. There really is no polite way to call these dating dudes out on such matters, but there isn't a point either. Keep a keen eye open. If their healthy lifestyle they claimed proves to be untruthful, take him or leave him. Trying to change anyone = waste of time.
